Specialized Attention to New Construction Defects
New construction inspections require close attention to workmanship, installation details, and the interaction between building systems. We look beyond the home’s finished appearance to evaluate visible, accessible components for concerns that may affect safety, function, durability, and moisture protection.
Our inspections focus on issues such as:
Roofing, flashing, siding, and drainage defects
Improperly operating windows and doors
Plumbing leaks and loose fixtures
Electrical and HVAC installation concerns
Visible framing and attic concerns
Stair, railing, deck, and garage door safety
Flooring, trim, and other visible workmanship defects
We document observed concerns and explain when further evaluation by a qualified contractor or engineer is recommended.
Blue Tape Marking Included
We use blue tape, where appropriate and permitted, to identify visible defects and workmanship concerns. This helps you and your builder locate items during repair discussions and follow-up walkthroughs. Blue tape supports the written documentation; the inspection report provides the fuller explanation of each finding.
A Separate Builder Repair Request Is Included
In addition to your inspection report, you receive a separate repair request that can be submitted directly to your builder. This organizes documented concerns into a practical format for requesting corrections before closing or within an agreed timeframe. You receive both a detailed record of the inspection and a convenient document to support communication with the builder.
Helpful Guidance for First Time Buyers
Purchasing your first home directly from a builder can bring unfamiliar questions. We explain our findings clearly and help you prepare for your builder walkthrough and repair discussions.
